The Short Version
Lost Ark's Korean servers deployed their fall update on September 23, 2026, timed to the Chuseok holiday. The centerpiece is the top-end challenge content Kazeros Raid Extreme — a high-difficulty version of the existing Kazeros raid, layered with new patterns and modified mechanics, that opens across an Act 3 and a Final Act.
Alongside it come a matchmaking-only raid for item level 1750 and up, and a Chuseok attendance-and-harvest event. It's a textbook peak-season patch, bundling three threads at once: raising the endgame ceiling, lowering the barrier to entry, and a seasonal event. The challenge content holds core players' hours through the holiday break, while the matchmaking and event target returning and casual players. For Western Lost Ark players, it's also a preview of content headed to global servers later.

Kazeros Raid Extreme

Extreme is a new ceiling for Lost Ark's combat content. New patterns and altered mechanics put a fresh learning burden even on top rosters that already cleared the base Kazeros raid. It splits into three tiers, each with its own item-level requirement and revival rule.
| Difficulty | Item level | Revives |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | 1730+ | Unlimited |
| Hard | 1770+ | Unlimited |
| Nightmare | 1780+ | None |
Nightmare is the crux. Revives are locked out entirely, so a single mistake means a wipe — effectively a proof of a top roster's mastery, with the highest-tier rewards to match. Normal and Hard keep unlimited revives to lower the entry burden, opening a wide spectrum of challenge across the tiers.
The Schedule: From Act 3 to the Final Act
Extreme doesn't unlock all at once. It opens in two stages across eight weeks, holding the narrative climax back to stretch the content's lifespan past the holiday peak.
| Stage | Window | Currency earned |
|---|---|---|
| Act 3 Extreme | Sept 23 – Oct 21 (4 weeks) | Thunder coins |
| Final Act Extreme | Oct 21 – Nov 18 (4 weeks) | Light and Darkness coins |
Act 3 opens first, giving rosters four weeks to learn the patterns before the Final Act follows. Because each stage yields a different currency, players have to run both windows to fully stock their growth materials.
Reward Structure
Extreme's rewards are thick, as befits top-end content. First-clear rewards include a legendary card selection pack, a hero-grade gem selection box, chaos coins, and a gem-polishing reset ticket. A Nightmare clear adds a legendary title and a special emote along with 200,000 gold.
Repeat rewards carry weight too. Every difficulty grants 20,000–50,000 gold per clear, and as noted, Act 3 pays out Thunder coins while the Final Act pays Light and Darkness coins. Because difficulty maps directly onto gold and material efficiency, rosters pick a tier to match their skill and optimize their weekly gold ceiling.
Matchmaking Content and the Chuseok Event
This patch isn't only for elite rosters. A matchmaking-only raid for item level 1750+ arrives too, playable as an 8-player group or solo. Tuned easier than the standard mode, it lets players who can't field a static clear the threshold into higher-tier content.
The thread for casual and returning players is the Chuseok event. Running from September 23 to October 21, it has players collect attendance stamps through specific content, rewarding a lion-mask mount selection box at 15 stamps and a Chuseok Mokoko pet selection box at 20 stamps — a now-familiar seasonal design that keeps players logging in across the holiday break.
Market and Community Reaction
The focus of the reaction is difficulty design. Nightmare's "no revives" gives top rosters a clear target and drew praise, though some voiced concern about the spec requirement and learning burden. The unlimited revives of Normal and Hard, plus the matchmaking content, read as buffers bridging that gap.
On scheduling, the staged Act 3 / Final Act rollout is read as an attempt to pace content consumption — concentrating firepower on Act 3 over Chuseok, then engineering a second engagement peak with the Final Act in late October. In Korea's MMORPG market, Lost Ark remains the yardstick for peak-season patches, and how far this Extreme roadmap lifts Q4 engagement is the thing to watch.
GamePeak's Bottom Line
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| When does it start? | Act 3 Extreme on Sept 23; the Final Act on Oct 21 |
| What are the specs? | Normal 1730 / Hard 1770 / Nightmare 1780+ |
| The hardest tier? | Nightmare — no revives, rewarding a legendary title and 200,000 gold |
| No static group? | The item-level-1750 matchmaking raid is your way in |
| For casual players? | The Chuseok event — mount and pet boxes at 15 and 20 stamps |
Lost Ark's fall update splits challenge and accessibility across one patch — a textbook peak-season strategy. Extreme Nightmare raises the target at the top, while the matchmaking content and Chuseok event lower the barrier below. With the eight-week roadmap running through to the Final Act, the real test is how well it sustains engagement from Chuseok into mid-November — and, for the West, a look at what's coming when these updates cross over.
