The Short Version

On September 17, Nexon pushed major updates to four flagship live-service titles on the same day: MapleStory, Sudden Attack, KartRider Rush+, and Dungeon & Fighter Mobile, spanning both PC online and mobile. Ahead of the autumn peak season, Nexon loaded content into its marquee live titles all at once.

The notable part is that three different update shapes landed in a single day: endgame content (MapleStory's "Aurum Regis"), seasonal refreshes (Sudden Attack, KartRider), and a new class (DNF Mobile's "Archer") — a lineup designed to hit each game's core audience simultaneously.

It is unusual for one company to stack this many live updates in a single day. Because each title covers a different genre (MMORPG, FPS, racing, action), the move reads as a bid to carry players into the fall season without churn.

MapleStory: Epic Dungeon 'Aurum Regis' + Personal Burning

MapleStory's update pairs endgame content with a growth event. The new Epic Dungeon 'Aurum Regis' is available to Level 290 and above characters and consists of five stages in total, granting roughly 1.5x the experience of Nightmare Paradise.

Its core gameplay uses the special skill 'Erda Magnum' to control projectiles — destroying objects or striking a boss's weak points. Clearing it rewards EXP, Sol Erda, High-Concentrated Sol Erda Energy, and Sol Erda Fragments.

The accompanying 'Personal Burning' event runs through November 18. Characters Level 260 and above can join, receiving a set of 30 customized growth missions tailored to their level and EXP at the start. Hitting each stage's goals awards EXP and 'Personal Coins'.

Sudden Attack: 2026 Season 4 'Moonrise'

Nexon's online FPS Sudden Attack applied its 2026 Season 4 'Moonrise' update on September 17, running through December 10. The season delivers the seasonal character 'C.Luna' and a new submachine gun, 'NOX(S) Moonrise', via the seasonal progression track 'Sudden Pass'.

Bundling a seasonal character and seasonal weapon as pass rewards is Sudden Attack's standard live-ops playbook. The new SMG's performance and balance will be the community's chief concern in the season's early days.

KartRider Rush+ & DNF Mobile

The mobile side moved the same day. Racing game KartRider Rush+ applied Season 41 'Galaxy', built around a space-racer theme. Additions include highlight karts 'Artemis Nova' and 'Artemis Solar', the speed kart 'Galaxy Marathon', and item karts 'Carbon Beat', 'Millstone', and 'Rocket Idang'.

Action RPG Dungeon & Fighter Mobile introduced a new class, 'Archer' — a native of Celesti who wields bows and secondary equipment, widening the game's ranged-DPS options. A new class is DNF Mobile's strongest lever for pulling in new and returning players.

Context: An All-Out Live Push and TGS 2026

Nexon's "simultaneous update" carries the flavor of an all-out live-service push aimed at the fall season. With Korea's peak gaming stretch running from the new school term into year-end, refreshing genre-diverse flagship titles on the same day is a play to concentrate traffic and buzz in one window.

The timing lines up, too. Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2026 (September 17–21, Makuhari Messe) drew major Korean publishers including Nexon, NCSoft, and Netmarble, all bringing new titles. The picture is a two-track strategy: keep the domestic live services humming while showcasing new games on the global stage.

Why It Matters for Players

The payoff is concrete for each audience. High-level MapleStory players will weigh Aurum Regis's hourly efficiency and Sol Erda income, while Level 260+ players focus on the Personal Burning growth curve across its 30 stages. Sudden Attack players will test the new SMG's real-match performance and the Sudden Pass grind, and KartRider / DNF Mobile players will watch the new karts' stats and the Archer's early balance.

One thing to note is the end dates: Personal Burning closes November 18 and Sudden Attack's Season 4 ends December 10, so planning reward runs around those deadlines is the sensible move.
