Square Enix: A Final Fantasy VII Revelation Demo Headlines

Square Enix arrives with a large booth of hands-on demos and photo spots. The biggest draw is a playable Final Fantasy VII Revelation demo, alongside photo spots for each entry in the FF7 remake trilogy. Revelation is dated April 8, 2027, so this is a marquee pre-launch try-out.

The lineup also spans Kingdom Hearts IV, Dragon Quest VII Reimagined (with a floor demo), Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold, Final Fantasy Resonance, and the Kingdom Hearts Collection [I–III]. FF Resonance gets a massive pixel-art panel and a spot-the-difference campaign; DQ Monsters brings a "Fluffy" meet-and-greet photo event.

Konami: Castlevania: Belmont's Curse and a Silent Hill Stage

Konami's lineup centers on the new Castlevania: Belmont's Curse — coming to PS5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC — with a playable demo on the floor. On September 20, voice actors Ryotaro Okiayu (Trevor Belmont) and Satoshi Tsuruoka (Death) play it live on stream.

Horror fans will watch the Silent Hill: Townfall stage. Ahead of its September 24 launch, a September 19 special features series producer Motoi Okamoto plus live gameplay commentary. Also present, via demo and streaming: Suikoden STAR LEAP, Falcom partner title Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, Super Bomberman Collection, and Switch 2's eFootball Kick-Off!

Capcom and More to Watch

Capcom teased its news a day early: a roughly 40-minute Capcom Spotlight broadcast on September 16 (7:00 a.m. PT), using a standalone stream to build lineup buzz. And with the calendar stretched to five days, there are more streaming stages and demo slots than usual — widening exposure for partner and indie titles too.

Why It Matters Beyond Japan

TGS is a Japanese event, but its reach is global — and this year's slate leans on IP with deep followings worldwide: Silent Hill, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Suikoden, and the Trails series all feature. For Silent Hill: Townfall in particular, launching September 24, the TGS stage doubles as a final pre-release preview.

TGS is also a business venue. Just as national pavilions posted large deal figures at gamescom 2026, the stretched five-day TGS means more matchmaking and publishing touchpoints. If you plan to attend, sort out the difference between the Business Days (17–18) and public days (19–21) first.

What to Watch

First, whether five days actually works — the added day could thin out the crowd for a more comfortable visit, or spread content too thin. That is the 30th-anniversary show's first real test. Second, the quality of the big demos: how on-floor builds of unreleased titles like FF7 Revelation and DQ VII Reimagined land will steer expectations.

Third, the synergy with pre-show streams. As broadcasts like Capcom Spotlight (Sep 16) pull announcements forward, the show floor tilts increasingly toward hands-on experience over reveals — a trend worth tracking.
