What Was Announced — Full Korean Localization, a Series First

PRO SPIRIT has been a Japan-only release for decades. Starting with the 2026 edition, Konami is pairing its first worldwide launch with the series' first complete Korean localization — menus, tutorials, and mode-progression text will all be in Korean, with the exception of player names, commentary, and stadium names.

The Fine Print on Korean Support

Korean covers the full UI and mode-progression text, but it won't be available at launch. Konami says Korean only becomes selectable after a post-launch update is applied, meaning day-one buyers will play in English or Japanese until that patch arrives.

Pre-Order Bonuses

Korean pre-orders opened June 30 through online retailers including Soprano.

New Modes — WBC Mode Returns, Active Draft Added

The 2026 edition brings back a 2026 World Baseball Classic mode, though that content is limited to Japan and the Asia region. The high-school-baseball-focused "Koshien Path" mode introduces the designated hitter rule for the first time in series history, and Season Mode gains a new "Active Draft" system.

Why It Matters

PRO SPIRIT has historically stayed a Japan-only franchise while MLB The Show and other baseball sims dominated overseas markets. This worldwide launch, paired with Korean localization, reads as Konami's first real push into international baseball-game markets — and Korea, with its deep KBO fan base, is an obvious target. The catch is that Korean text won't be there at launch; how quickly and how well that update lands will likely decide whether the localization effort pays off.

PRO SPIRIT 2026 hits two milestones at once: the series' first worldwide release and its first Korean localization. The one thing Korean players need to plan around is that the localization doesn't ship on day one — it arrives later, via update.
