Story: What You've Always Wanted to See

E-Day is the first Gears game to tell the story of Emergence Day — the moment the Locust Horde erupted from beneath the surface of Sera and began slaughtering the population. Set in Kalona, a mid-sized industrial city on the coast, the three-day story follows four characters in plain clothes as the world collapses around them.

All four are playable from the start of the campaign. Marcus and Dom were purposely written as emotionally distant — the loss of Carlos (Dom's brother, Marcus's best friend) hangs over every scene. Their arc through E-Day is as much about brotherhood being rebuilt as it is about the war.
Kalona
The Coalition calls Kalona "the largest, most complex location" ever built in a Gears game. A single fully-integrated city — sports stadium, working waterfront, airfield, residential neighborhoods, refineries — constructed in UE5 so the entire city exists simultaneously in the editor. You watch this place come alive and then fall apart over three days.
Movement: New and Different

The classic Roadie Run is replaced with a redesigned movement system.
