League of Legends Patch 26.11 — Tank Supports Are Back, Enchanters Finally Nerfed

The Enchanter Meta Just Got Its Reckoning

League of Legends Patch 26.11 went live on May 28, 2026, delivering one of the most significant support role overhauls of the year. After months of enchanter dominance — shields, poke, and range winning nearly every bot lane matchup — Riot has pushed back with a coordinated wave of tank/engage buffs and enchanter nerfs.

The headline from Riot's lead gameplay designer Phroxzon:

"

"Enchanters have dominated bot lane for most of the year, and more recently mage supports have been pumping out too much damage via the re-added Deathfire Touch. We're making systemic adjustments to rebalance these archetypes and give melee supports some love."

Support System Overhaul — Full Breakdown

Tank/Engage Buffs

ChangeWhat ChangedImpact
AftershockBase resistance: 35 → 45 (scaling slightly reduced)Engage supports get more reliable early durability
GuardianCooldown: 90–40s → 75–40sPeel supports access the rune more often early
HeartsteelHealth conversion rate: 8% → 10%Greedy tank builds scale harder
Knight's VowDamage redirect: 12% → 14%; Heal: 10% → 12%One of the strongest support items gets even better
Locket of the Iron SolariArmor + MR: 25 → 30Defensive burst shield becomes more potent
Zeke's ConvergencePassive now waits up to 5s after ult for a valid targetCleaner synergy in mobile teamfights

Enchanter/Ranged Nerfs

ChangeWhat ChangedImpact
Summon AeryShield: 30–100 → 20–100Early trades against enchanter lanes hurt more
Dream MakerBonus damage and damage reduction both reducedLess lane trading power for Nami/Sona/Lulu
Echoes of HeliaStored damage: 35% → 30%Direct nerf to enchanter damage contribution
Moonstone RenewerStarlight Grace no longer double-dips with H&S PowerNiche nerf to specific healing builds

Imperial Mandate — Major Rework

Imperial Mandate has been completely overhauled. Instead of triggering on slows (historically a Nami-exclusive tool), it now requires an immobilize (stun, root, airborne, etc.) to proc:

  • New proc condition: immobilize an enemy champion
  • On immobilize: +6% increased damage, +15 ability haste granted
  • New recipe: Blasting Wand + Bandleglass Mirror + 700g (total: 2,400g)
  • AP: 60 → 65, Ability Haste: 20 → 15, Mana Regen: 125% → 150%
⚠️WARNING

Nami's E is a slow, not an immobilize — she can no longer proc Imperial Mandate's passive. This is a functional removal of Mandate from Nami's kit. Champions like Leona, Nautilus, Rakan, and Lux become the new primary users.

Champion Changes

Buffs

ChampionChangeWhy It Matters
DianaMonster damage + W bonus health scaling upDiana jungle gets a real clear, not just a mid lane champion
EkkoPassive cooldown: 5s → 4sMore sustained damage in extended fights
HeimerdingerTurret range, vision, and targeting improvedWave clear and zoning feel less clunky
KassadinQ cooldown reduced, W damage upBetter early trading in mid lane
QuinnPassive + Q monster damage significantly increasedFollows up on Quinn jungle experiments from 26.10

Nerfs

ChampionChangeWhy It Matters
BrandBase armor: 27 → 24Targets the dominant bot lane Brand, but hurts support Brand too
SmolderQ/E passive magic damage nerfedBruiser Smolder weakened; crit builds encouraged instead
TeemoArmor growth reduced; E bonus AD ratios cutAddresses Teemo's overperformance since the Statikk Shiv rework

Adjustment

ChampionChangeWhy It Matters
AP Xin ZhaoPassive AP heal ratio reduced; AP damage ratio addedAP Xin survives as a build but heals less

Item Changes Beyond Support

Item/RuneChange
Experimental Hexplate (ranged only)Overdrive: 50% atk spd + 20% ms → 35% atk spd + 14% ms
Statikk ShivAD: 40 → 45
Deathfire TouchDamage type changed: adaptive → magic damage (loses Black Cleaver synergy)
Void GrubsStructural dot damage increased; summoned grub HP: 60% → 100% of melee minion

Deathfire Touch's conversion to magic damage is the other big system change this patch. Adaptive-to-magic removes the Black Cleaver stacking synergy that had made the rune disproportionately powerful on certain bruiser builds.

The Italian food theme — Pizza Chef Sion, Pasta Maker Illaoi, Breadsticks Irelia, and Spaghetti alla Vel'Koz — is one of the more creatively distinct skin batches this season. Paired with the Eternal Aspect mythic skins for Leona and Diana, it's a strong cosmetic patch.

💡TIP

The Eternal Aspect Diana and Leona skins share a thematic connection — Diana and Leona as opposing celestial champions. Eclipse Eternal Aspect Diana comes as a Prestige variant, making this a notable collection for fans of the sun-and-moon duo lore.

Side Mode Updates

Arena: Three new Guests of Honor (Nilah, Vayne, Yone). Enchanter augments nerfed, marksman items improved. Combo Breaker CC window shortened (4s → 3s).

ARAM: Mayhem: Gwen, Vayne, Xayah, Kalista, Fizz, Tristana, Twitch, Smolder, Varus, Samira, and Fiddlesticks all tuned down.

Regular ARAM: Qiyana gains +20 ability haste.

Community Reaction

"

"Tank supports have needed this for so long. Enchanter bot lane has been the answer every game for months. If Leona and Nautilus can actually get through a lane phase now, ranked is going to be way more fun." — Reddit r/leagueoflegends

"

"The Imperial Mandate rework is actually really clean. Making it an immobilize item instead of a Nami-exclusive finally opens it up to a roster of engage champions. Excited to see Leona Mandate builds." — LoL Official Forums

"

"Teemo nerf incoming and the Teemo mains are already in full meltdown mode in the subreddit. Armor growth is actually a bigger deal than it sounds for laning." — Blitz.gg community

Next Patch

Patch 26.12 is scheduled for June 10, 2026. The timing matters: if tank supports re-enter the meta in solo queue, pro teams will be watching closely for impact on summer tournament play.
