💡TIP

The Silver Surfer Wrap (Reflector) is the real prize here. It was added to the game files back in Chapter 2 Season 4 during the Silver Surfer Marvel collab in 2020 — and has never been released in over five years. Epic is finally handing it out for free to every player who logs in today. Don't miss this one.

Special Gameplay Changes Active Today Only

Community Day brings a set of gameplay modifications voted on by the player community — active for this 24-hour period only.

  • Finger Guns unvaulted: The community voted them back. They're in the loot pool today only.
  • Increased pizza slice stack limit: You can hold more pizza than normal for the day.
  • Double XP: Earn 2x experience all day long — up to 50 bonus levels.
  • More Rare Blue Chests: Higher frequency of blue chests spawning across the map.
  • Golden Fireworks Pistols: Limited loot pool additions active for the event.

Power Hours: When to Be Online for Maximum Rewards

Two Power Hours are scheduled during Community Day, where players spawn directly with an Overwatch-inspired Exotic loadout — four options in rotation.

Power HourET TimeGMT Time
Power Hour 111:30 AM ET3:30 PM GMT
Power Hour 23:30 PM ET7:30 PM GMT

These are some of the most intense gameplay moments scheduled for the event. If you're playing for the experience rather than just the free cosmetics, these windows are worth planning around.

What's Coming: The Shattered Live Event — June 5

Community Day isn't just a giveaway — it marks the beginning of Chapter 7 Season 2's final countdown. The season-ending live event, Shattered, kicks off on Friday, June 5 at 7:00 PM ET.

This is the conclusion of the Team Foundation vs. Team Ice King storyline that defined the Showdown season. Chapter 7 Season 2 launched on March 19, running for roughly 11 weeks — one of the shorter seasons in Fortnite's recent history.

⚠️WARNING

Shattered is a one-time-only live event. The event playlist opens at 6:20 PM ET — get into a lobby at least 40 minutes early to avoid getting locked out by server queues. There's no way to watch it again after it happens.

v40.41 Patch: Weapon Changes in Effect

The weapon balance changes from the v40.41 patch (deployed May 28) remain active during Community Day.

WeaponChangeEffect
Pulse PistolsImproved mid-range damage retention; faster reloadStronger in dash-based mid-range exchanges
Overdrive Pulse RifleReduced magazine capacityLess sustained wall pressure in builds mode

Neither change overturns the meta for the season's final week. The Pulse Pistols were already dominant — the buff makes them slightly stickier. The Overdrive Pulse Rifle nerf is the third touch Epic has made to the weapon; it's still worth picking up.

The Future of Community Day

Epic has confirmed that Community Day is a recurring event — not a one-time thing. Additional styles for the Community 'Brella will be released with future Community Days, meaning the glider you're earning today will grow more valuable over time as more styles are added.

This is the start of an ongoing calendar of community-driven events, building toward what looks like a major structural shift in how Epic approaches seasonal content.

Bottom Line

If you play Fortnite at any frequency, log in today. The Silver Surfer Wrap alone justifies the two minutes it takes to boot up the game — it's a five-year-old unreleased cosmetic that may never be available again. Stack it with the Community 'Brella, play a few matches for the additional rewards, and catch a Power Hour if you have the time.

Chapter 7 Season 2 ends on June 5. Community Day is the final reward before the curtain drops.
