Realm of Ink 1.0 Is Out Now Across All Platforms
Realm of Ink has officially left Steam Early Access. Developer Leap Studio and publisher 4Divinity launched Version 1.0 on May 26, 2026 simultaneously across PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. The full release adds nine distinct combat forms, expanded story content, a new BlazBlue Entropy Effect crossover character, and a wave of quality-of-life improvements from the Early Access period.
Steam reception has been exceptional: the game holds 93% positive across 4,141 total reviews, with the most recent 147 reviews hitting 88% positive — a strong signal that the 1.0 build is landing well. A 10% launch discount brings the price to $22.49 through June 5.
A bundle with BlazBlue Entropy Effect is available on Steam with an additional 6% discount on top of any active sale. If you own or want both games, the bundle is the better deal.

Story — A Swordswoman Trapped Inside a Written Fate
You play as Red, a fierce swordswoman hunting the Fox Demon through shifting, ink-painted realms. Mid-chase, she uncovers a devastating truth: her entire existence is a scripted story, written by someone else, and she has been following a predetermined path all along.
The premise flips the standard roguelite loop into something personal. Each run is not just a retry — it is Red refusing to accept the ending written for her. She fights through four atmospheric realms rooted in Chinese folklore, from verdant forest environments to the haunted ruins of the Mausoleum, encountering more than 20 mythical beings inspired by classical Chinese literature including the Fox Demon, the Peony Fairy, and the Mirror Sprite.

Gameplay — Nine Forms, 40+ Ink Gems, 200+ Artifacts
The core of Realm of Ink is the Form system. Each form is not a cosmetic swap — it comes with its own weapon, skill set, movement feel, and combat identity. The 1.0 release ships with nine fully distinct forms, each representing a completely different way to play.
On top of that, each run is built around Ink Gems: over 40 elemental modifiers that reshape your abilities mid-run. The Ink Pet system adds another layer. Momo, your companion, evolves into more than 15 different forms depending on which Ink Gems you equip, unlocking unique move sets for each combination.
Key content in Version 1.0:
- ▶9 distinct combat forms with unique weapons and skill trees
- ▶40+ Ink Gems that fundamentally alter ability behavior
- ▶200+ artifacts and perks for deep build customization
- ▶Evolving Ink Pet system — 15+ Momo forms based on gem combos
- ▶Trial Valleys and Endless Challenge for score-attack and endgame grinding
- ▶Story Relics and character encounters that expand the narrative beyond combat
BlazBlue Entropy Effect Crossover — Oread Joins the Ink Realm
The headline addition alongside the 1.0 launch is a crossover with 91Act's BlazBlue Entropy Effect. Stage 4 boss Oread has been reworked as a fully playable form in Realm of Ink, integrated entirely into the game's form system.
Oread arrives with a dedicated Ink Gem, two exclusive Ink Pet skins, and a set of unique perks built around her aggressive, pressure-heavy combat style. Players on all platforms can unlock her immediately.

Critical Reception and Community Reaction
Press coverage heading into launch was positive across the board, with notable praise for the visual direction:
""Beautiful action inbound." — IGN
""The game's swish inky art direction is its obvious silver bullet." — Rock Paper Shotgun
""I jumped in to get a feel for how it played and was impressed by what I saw." — PCGamesN
Steam community responses since launch:
""This is what I want from a roguelite — every run feels different and the art style never gets old. Nine forms means nine different games basically."
— Steam review, Early Access veteran
""Hades meets Dead Cells but with a Chinese mythology coat of paint that absolutely slaps. Momo's transformations alone are worth the price of entry."
— r/roguelikes
""Been in since early access. The 1.0 jump is massive. The new forms completely change the meta. Don't sleep on this one."
— Steam review
Realm of Ink does not currently support Korean language. English, Simplified Chinese, or Traditional Chinese are the supported text options. A Korean localization petition is active on the Steam forums if you want to add your voice.

For roguelite fans who want something visually distinctive and mechanically deep, Realm of Ink 1.0 makes a strong case.
